Why do most people give up before they even start?
Because building something from nothing is scary.
You have to be brave. And overcome the limiting beliefs placed on you by society and yourself.
In order to go for it, you have to believe you can. But also be ready to fall flat on your face. At least a few times. Until you learn how to jump the hurdles and swerve around the potholes.
The obstacles don't disappear. You just figure out how to navigate them.
If success was simple, there wouldn't be so many dang quotes about how to achieve it.
Five ways to help you start your quest to success:
🎲 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭.
You can't alter your life without making changes, obvs. But we're creatures of habit and rarely think outside our normal channels.
For instance, if you know networking is important for your career growth, set definitive goals to attend local meet-ups or reach out to the people who inspire you online.
You can't do the same thing and expect different results.
🐠 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝.
You can't stop. Because once you do, the starting back up will be even harder.
Make small, attainable goals each day. Keep building on the foundation you started.
Small steps still get you to where you're going.
💪 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤, 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤.
Fake it until you make it is a real thing. Because you aren't only convincing others of your value, you are convincing yourself.
Make sure everybody knows your plans, how you will achieve them and how they can support you.
Accountability energizes your ambition.
🌎 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞.
I mean it, everywhere. Your family, your friends, your kids. Social media. Online, offline. Observe strangers. Take a walk. Read a book. Clear your mind.
Crazy as that last one sounds, sometimes it provides a new perspective.
Think about when you try hard to remember something and can't. But as soon as you stop trying, it pops into your head.
Ideas and insight stem from clarity.
💡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐨.
You don't need to know everything to start the journey.
You just have to be open to learning new things and changing course as needed.
Every new parent thinks: 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵. 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘧𝘧 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘶𝘱?
Guess what? We all mess up. It's the same with any new start.
Learn. Fail. Learn some more. Fail again. Learn some more. Succeed. Repeat.

Building something from nothing is scary. So is skydiving. I was young and adventurous then. That bravery, spirit and energy still exists within me, but I need to work harder to find it.
What's the scariest thing you've ever done?
